Jamming at Pragovka Gallery

Jamming is an experimental art project in which artists labeled “intellectually disabled” cooperate with artists with academic disabilities.

The project is an attempt to break down barriers on different fronts: to prove that several painters can share one canvas and that it is not necessary for those who bear the label  “intellectual disability” to live in a separate world from those who do not.

The creative process here could be termed “proto-utopian:” during the “jam sessions” where the paintings are created, we simultaneously cultivate a model of society in which cooperation, equality, tolerance and acceptance of diversity are the main values.
